Where to stay in Nusa Dua
Bali's manicured resort enclave — gated five-stars, gentle reef-protected beaches and a family-friendly calm, on the east side of the Bukit.
Nusa Dua is a planned resort enclave, and that is the whole proposition: a gated peninsula of large hotels along a calm, reef-protected, raked beach, with a shopping and restaurant complex in the middle and security on the gates. Very little about it is spontaneous, and very little about it goes wrong.
It suits families with small children, travellers who want a predictable resort, and anyone who came to sit beside a pool. It suits independent travellers poorly: eating where Balinese people eat means leaving the gates, and the gates are a long walk from most rooms.
Tanjung Benoa immediately north is the watersports strip, quieter and cheaper on the same sheltered water.
