Where to stay in Jimbaran
A calm crescent bay on the Bukit — famous for grilled-seafood dinners on the sand at sunset, with smart resorts a short hop from the airport.
Jimbaran is a bay on the western side of the Bukit's neck, and the draw is the water. It faces west into the sunset but sits inside a sheltered crescent, so it swims calmly in a way the Kuta side does not. The seafood warungs on the sand at the southern end are what most people come for, tables set out at dusk with the airport's landing lights across the bay.
It suits families and anyone who wants a resort with a real beach twenty minutes from the airport. It suits people who want to walk to dinner rather less, because the resorts are strung along the shore and the gaps between them are not pleasant on foot.
It is the natural base for the Bukit without committing to Uluwatu's clifftop isolation: the temple, the southern surf breaks and Nusa Dua are all inside half an hour.
