Heart of Bali: 5-Day Bali Walking Trek by Astungkara Way
Walk the trail voted Best of the World 2026 by National Geographic readers: a 5-day journey of reconnection with nature, yourself, food and community, 42 km on foot through rice terraces, sacred waters and Bali's last primary jungle. The Heart of Bali trail is part of the Astungkara Trail, starting at a 700-year-old sacred banyan tree in Tabanan and ending in the waterfall valleys of Munduk. You cross primary jungle few organizations can guide you through, join a Melukat water purification ceremony with a local priest, learn from master artisans, and exchange with farming communities leading the regenerative projects your trail directly funds: we are not just a travel company. Meals are vegetarian, grown on the farms you cross. Nights are spent on handcrafted platforms immersed in nature, in places few travelers ever get to sleep: deep in the forest, at the foot of a waterfall, on a mountaintop. Small groups of max 9, run by Astungkara Way's own full-time guides and organizers.
